Getting started with KeyProp
The 4 steps to go from sign-up to collecting rent automatically.
KeyProp automates rent collection so you never have to chase tenants. Here's the fastest path to your first automatic payment.
Set up in 4 steps
- 1Add your property (address, type, monthly rent).
- 2Add your tenant(s) as people, then create a lease (Leases → New Lease) — the wizard sets the rent, deposit, and due day and creates the first charge.
- 3Connect your bank for payouts (Stripe Connect) so collected rent reaches you.
- 4That's it — KeyProp emails each tenant a secure pay link about a week before rent is due, every month, automatically.
Already have tenants mid-lease?
No problem. KeyProp only ever bills the next upcoming rent — it never creates back-charges for months before you signed up. Set the lease's rent due day to match your existing cycle.
The rent due day drives when rent is billed each month. The move-in date drives the first charge — move in mid-month and that first charge is automatically prorated.
What happens after setup
From here, KeyProp runs on its own. Each day it checks who has rent coming up and, about a week before the due date, emails that tenant a secure pay link. You'll see every charge and payment on the Payments page, and your income updates automatically in Reports.
- Tenants pay by bank (ACH) or card — no account needed.
- Late payers are reminded automatically, and your late-fee rules are applied.
- You get notified when money is on its way to your bank.
